lyrics

So I've been playing, rolling stones again.
And I've lost three days of my time of times to snow.
Your impression lasts lifetimes it curdles most.
Mine are mainly marks and fingerprints.

And so the scrapes on their knees are blown by the wind through the trees,
and though my 21 years seem really long they're a drop in the ocean, a syllable in a song.
Something must be rotten in Denmark, 'cause I could be a little more than a light flickering, flickering in the dark.

So my apparent doubts are obvious.
They are the same doubts that are preyed upon by such a host.
How can you tell me that you want this? That I need to know?
You do your talking in graveyards while I raise a toast.

So while the moon it regulates the tide, the stars are our measure of time.
Awareness assures us that we are alive.
The sun is like God's true disguise.
Do you feel you've been wasting your time?
While you're doing all your preaching to the sky.
